The winner of the Bingham & District Choral Society Bursary and Prize for young classical musicians in 2018, Nottingham-born mezzo-soprano Emily Hodkinson, presents this Valentine’s Day themed recital, performing music from Opera, Art Song and Classic Musical Theatre. Her programme spans more than 400 centuries, from the 1600s through to the great composers of the twenty- first century, exploring the enduring and timeless nature of love; whether romantic, familial or love for the world in which we live.

Emily Hodkinson, bursary & prize winner

Emily is delighted to perform as part of the Live at Lunch series, having grown up in Nottingham and worked as a Steward at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall. A former member of the National Youth Choirs Fellowship, Emily was a 2019-20 Making Music UK Selected Artist and is now studying at the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
