The current Head Girl Chorister and a former Boy Chorister from Southwell Minster Choir are both playing prominent roles in Bingham and District Choral Society’s Autumn Concert on November 27th.

Ellie-Jean Winfield, Head Girl Chorister, will be singing the soprano solos in the concert, including the solos in Mendelssohn’s ‘Hear My Prayer’, notably the famous song ‘Oh, For the Wings of a Dove’, and the series of beautiful solos in the Requiem by John Rutter.

George Parris, who was one of the boy choristers up until 2014, and went on to study Music at Manchester University, is featured in the concert as a composer. Last year he won Bingham Choral Society’s Composing Competition with his piece entitles ‘A Psalmic Fantasia’, which is written for Soprano solo (Ellie-Jean again), choir and instrumental ensemble.

The programme is completed by Handel’s Coronation Anthem ‘The King Shall Rejoice’, and the concert takes place at St Mary’s Parish Church, Orston, on Saturday November 27th at 7.30pm. For tickets ( Reserved – £13.00; Unreserved  – £10.00; Children – Free) call 0115 878 0642
